My professional experience spans IT training, digital skills education, and applied technical work across adult, community, and further education settings. I have worked in both delivery and support roles, online and in person, and in contract-based and self-employed contexts.
Areas of Practice
Adult & Further Education Training
Designing and delivering practical, learner-centred training in digital skills, workplace IT, and accessibility, including ICDL/MOS modules and Skills to Advance–aligned programmes.
Online & Blended Delivery
Experience as both learner and trainer across multiple platforms and delivery models, supporting engagement, accessibility, and progression in remote and hybrid learning environments.
Curriculum, Learning & Learner Support
Supporting adult learners with varied backgrounds and confidence levels, with a focus on inclusive practice, clear structure, and real-world application.
Workplace & Applied Technology Experience
Prior to focusing on education and training, I worked across a range of operational and technical roles, including administration, logistics, inventory control, customer support, and IT-related positions. This experience informs my teaching practice, particularly in employer-facing and workplace-focused programmes, where understanding real roles, pressures, and processes is essential.
Community & Voluntary Engagement
Longstanding involvement in community learning, digital inclusion, and voluntary initiatives, contributing to programme development, mentoring, and local capacity-building.
Selected Engagements
- Education and Training Boards (ETBs)
- Further and community education centres
- Skillnet and industry-aligned programmes
- Self-employed training and consultancy via CalypsoIT
Looking Ahead
Alongside education and training work, I remain interested in hands-on project and contract roles where technology, systems, and process improvement are applied directly.
